How to Print Your QR Code Menu Card — Complete Guide

Everything you need to know about printing your restaurant QR code menu card — sizes, materials, costs, and where to print in Pakistan.

Once you've created your digital menu on MenuQR, the last step before going live is printing your QR code cards to place on your restaurant tables. This guide covers everything you need to know — formats, sizes, materials, and where to get it done in Pakistan.

What You Need Before You Go to the Print Shop

From your MenuQR dashboard, download your QR code in at least one of these formats:

  • **PNG (recommended for most print shops)** — High resolution, works everywhere
  • **PDF** — Already formatted as a card, ready to print
  • **SVG** — Best for large-format printing (table tops, wall stickers)

Download the PNG at the highest resolution available. A 1000x1000 pixel PNG is sufficient for any card size up to A5.

QR Code Card Sizes and When to Use Each

Business card size (85mm x 55mm) — The most compact option. Good for small tables or cafes where table space is limited. Can include QR code + restaurant name + "Scan for our menu."

A6 card (105mm x 148mm) — The most popular choice. Large enough to have a clean design with your logo, QR code, and a brief instruction. Fits on any table without taking up much space.

Table tent / tent card — A folded card that stands upright on the table. Works for both sides — QR code on one side, promotions or branding on the other. Very visible to customers.

A5 (148mm x 210mm) — Good for counters and takeaway windows where the card doesn't need to share space with dishes.

What to Include on Your QR Card

Keep it simple. The card should have:

  • **Your restaurant logo or name** (top)
  • **The QR code** (large and centered — at least 5cm x 5cm for reliable scanning)
  • **A brief instruction** — "Scan for our menu" or "Scan to view menu & order" (in English and/or Urdu)
  • **Your website URL** — Optional, but useful if customers can't scan (e.g., getmenuqr.com/m/your-restaurant)

Do not include your full menu on the QR card. It defeats the purpose.

Recommended Materials

Matte laminated card — The best choice for most restaurants. Matte finish prevents glare from overhead lighting, making the QR code easier to scan. The lamination is waterproof and resistant to food stains.

Gloss laminated card — Looks vibrant and premium. Fine for upscale settings, though glare from direct lighting can occasionally cause scanning issues.

PVC card — Very durable, almost impossible to tear. Good for high-traffic restaurants or outdoor settings. More expensive but lasts years.

Where to Print in Pakistan

Local print shops: Any city in Pakistan has print shops that handle QR code cards. Search Google Maps for "printing press [your city]" to find nearby options. Bring your PNG or PDF file on a USB drive or send via WhatsApp.

Karachi: Print shops in Saddar, DHA, and Gulshan all handle this type of work. Expect Rs. 100–300 per card for matte laminated A6 with a minimum run of 10–20 cards.

Lahore: Print shops on M.M. Alam Road, in Liberty Market, and in DHA Phase 5 and 6 commercial areas. Similar pricing to Karachi.

Islamabad: Print shops in F-7, G-9 Markaz, and the Blue Area. Pricing is similar.

Online printing (delivered nationwide): Services like Vistaprint.pk and local online printers allow you to upload your design and have cards delivered. Useful if you want a larger quantity or don't have a local print shop you trust.

How Many Cards Should You Print?

A simple formula: (Number of tables × 2) + 10 spare cards.

For a 15-table restaurant: (15 × 2) + 10 = 40 cards.

The spare cards replace any that get lost, damaged, or taken by customers as souvenirs (this happens more than you'd expect).

What to Do After Printing

Place one card on each table or in a small table holder. Consider also placing a card:

  • At the reception/host stand for waiting customers
  • On your counter or takeaway window
  • In your delivery bags so delivery customers can save your menu link

Once the cards are placed, your digital menu is fully live. Any updates you make to your menu on MenuQR are reflected immediately for every customer who scans — no need to reprint.
